I did not mind paying the entrance fee but what really started to annoy me was that you needed to pay to get it but you also needed to additionally pay to go on each individual platform. even though there was supposed to be set pries for the platforms, when I asked how much the platform would cost for me and my four-person group to go on, the man said a price that was tripled to the one on the sign. it was completely ridiculous, and he was speaking to me as if I was completely blurred of the situation. the view is amazing but the use of space was not good. I understand the monopoly that this place is, but I would not recommend this as a tourist spot or a 'go-to' place in Jogja. If you decide to purchase the photos taken from their cameras, it's additional 5k rupiah per soft copy. Basically it's money, money and more money. To be honest, photos taken from my phone is way better than from their cameras because they use flash, which make the pictures looked over exposed. It was my decision to visit Kalibiru following online recommendations about what to visit in Yogya. The journey to Kalibiru is long and arduous, and a bit of a challenge with steep windy roads near the top. The basic premise of the site is not to wander around a national park but to follow a shortish trail of about 10-12 locations spots at which you can climb onto platforms and then have your photo taken doing something incredible for Instagram. You pay a fee to go in and then separate fees at each "spot" where there are security people who assist you to use the "spot" safely and take your photo leaping in the air or whatever you want to do. Nearby on the route there are a series of "warung"/cafes offering snacks and drinks. The views from the site are interesting but this is an absolute waste of your time and money unless you are an avid Instagram fan. It is better to spend your time at Prambanan and Borobudur which are 5* top sites or in one of the charming villages near Borobudur visiting a school or a small craft factory and admiring the rice fields and crop production. Please avoid Kalibiru. Sudah dibuka sejak tahun 2010, Kalibiru merupakan salah satu pelopor wisata alam dengan gardu pandang yang belakangan banyak bermunculan di DIY dan Bandung. Selain menawarkan lanskap perbuktan Menoreh yang hijau dan luas, dari gardu pandang pengunjung juga bisa melihat Waduk Sermo, waduk terluas di Yogyakarta yang saat ini juga menjadi salah satu tujuan wisata favorit di Kulon Progo.
